Felogene Anumo is a pan-African feminist and social justice leader with over 15 years of experience shaping transformative strategies for gender, economic, and climate justice across Africa and globally. Currently serving as Regional Director for Africa at Thousand Currents, Felogene champions long-term partnerships with grassroots movements working on food sovereignty, economic justice, and climate resilience.

Her leadership journey spans influential roles at the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), where she co-led the global “Building Feminist Economies” and Feminist Bailout campaigns, foregrounding feminist responses to crises like COVID-19. Felogene has also served in advisory roles to the UN Women CSW Youth Dialogue, ActionAid International, and British Council's East Africa AGILE program, amplifying youth feminist voices in policy, funding, and global advocacy spaces.

She blends feminist grantmaking, policy analysis, and capacity strengthening to advance inclusive governance. Her portfolio includes consultancies with UNOPS, Oxfam, FHI 360, and SheDecides, among others, as well as teaching in American University’s Study Abroad Program on gender and development in Africa.

An accomplished author, Felogene has published widely on feminist economics, corporate accountability, and youth organizing—including contributions to Cambridge University Press, AWID, and the LSE blog. She holds advanced credentials from Harvard Kennedy School, LSE, and Kenyatta University, among others.

Felogene’s strategic vision is matched by her commitment to feminist solidarity and movement-building, evident through her board service at Girls' Globe, Safe Abortion Action Fund (SAAF), and Moving the Goalpost Kenya (MTG).
