On 7 July 2023, the Kyivskyi District Court of Simferopol in Russian-occupied Crimea fined Crimean Tatar human rights defender Abdureshit Dzhepparov RUB 45,000 (about EUR 330) for the administrative offence of so-called “discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” envisioned by Article 20.3.3 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences. On 13 June 2023, the hearing on the administrative case against human rights defender Abdureshit Dzhepparov began in the Kyivskyi District Court in Simferopol in Russian-occupied Crimea.
On 8 June 2023, the Sudanese Military released human rights defender Alaa Nugud after thirteen days of being detained in an unknown location. He was released without any charges being brought against him.
On 27 May 2023, the Sudanese Military Intelligence detained human rights defender Alaa Nugud at his house in Omdurman, Sudan and took him to an unknown location.
On 30 May 2023, the Misdemeanor Court in Mosul acquitted human rights defender and journalist Yasser Al-Hamdani of the charges of ‘slander’ and ‘defamation’ against a government official in connection to his work on fighting corruption in Iraq. The Court ruled to dismiss the charges on the basis that there was not sufficient evidence to support the crime in accordance with Article 433 of the Iraqi Penal Code Law No. 111 of 1969.
On 2 June 2023, alleged members of the Ministerial Police of the State of Puebla went to the town of Santa María Zacatepec, dressed in civilian clothing and in unmarked cars, asking for the location and address of the human rights defender Alejandro Torres Chocolatl. They also went looking for him at his place of work, the Radio Comunitaria Zacatepec.

6 Haziran 2023 tarihinde İstanbul 35. Ağır Ceza Mahkemesi, yeniden görülen ve #Istanbul10 olarak da bilinen Büyükada Davasında tüm insan hakları savunucuları açısından beraat kararı verdi. Yargıtay'ın 22 Kasım 2022 tarihinde insan hakları savunucularına verilen cezaları bozması sebebiyle yargılama yeniden görülmeye başlamıştı.
